One of the alternative events that we discussed was a dinner in the hall, so I have designed loosely the beams holding up the mezzanine in the form I think is effective. In my design the beams join seamlessly from the top and curve in and out, inspired from precedents I have looked at, they then curve out in to tables/ seating areas which could be used for a dinner event on the bottom floor. We need to make sure that the tables are in positions where they do not intrude with doorways etc.
