ZAHA HADID

This installation in Miami is called “Elastika” and is site specific to the building. The building is the historical Moore building, built in 1921. The design, done in 2005, is over four stories to look like ‘stretched chewing gum’.

Dan Lam

Dan Lam is an artist who does interesting sculptures. I was drawn to her work by the texture and form. On her website she has three different albums named Blobs, Drips and Squishes. Below I have chosen to show pieces from her “Drips” collection as I’m drawn to the spikes and folds. She uses Polyurethane foam, resin, acrylic.

Daniel Widrig

In his work collaborating with Nike, Daniel Widrig created a very appealing 3D Print. It is a four meter long sculpture that was presented at an expo. I found it very interesting how he designed the piece so that it can inflate and deflate, making it very efficient for things like exhibitions. Daniel stated that creating a third of it took 20 hours.

Jang Yong-Sun

Jang Yong-Sun is a Korean artist who specialises in sculptures and installations. I chose to look at one of each, the first one being a sculpture. It is a round shape with the texture of many small circles, made from stainless steel. I was also intrigued by one of his installations, which are hanging abstract sculptures. The texture is very interesting.
