Rachel Whiteread

Rachel Whiteread is known for her sculptures that she creates of domestic spaces.

She did this piece named “Cabinet”, that resembles a medicine cabinet, stripped down to its simple forms.

This relates to our ritual as she chooses to recreate everyday spaces, and we focus on an everyday ritual. The space that you would find a medicine cabinet would be a bathroom, which the ritual of washing takes place.
