Washing Ritual

For the first class, we went into groups and were assigned a ritual relating to performance. Our group was assigned ‘Washing’, in which we decided to focus on the typical morning facial wash.

I took some videos of what I think is a typical morning routine for washing your face, for someone preparing for work, or university. I then put them together for a simple 30 second video.

I then took photographs of the process, and together our group annotated the photo’s on the different elements while doing the ritual.

We also thought a certain scene from ‘Shrek’ of his morning routine was a good fit for our ritual and an interesting spin.
